New object called "History Keeper" was added to the monitor. This object allows saving history of the monitor into a repository in the database.
It's possible to define the frequency of saving a sample, and the number of days to keep in the repository.

New electronic equipment called "External alerting device" (made by B.G.S.) was added to the monitor.
The device connects to the PC's parallel port and can activate a siren & light alert (wired or wireless). It's possible to define thresholds and statuses to activate the alert.

Capacity Planning Pack (OraCap) for Oracle Database

Identify database objects that grow in size.
Predict When Tablespaces are going to fill.
Identify Objects that have a constant growth rate (Linear) and Objects that have abnormal growth behavior (for example a dramatic change of size).
Plan forward the Database capacity and storage size.




The product is very easy to install and does all its work in the background. The only thing to do after installation is to schedule the 'Sample Mechanism'.
This mechanism performs samples of all database objects' size.
The sample mechanism measures the High Watermark of all objects (High Watermark is a good indication for the real size of the data inside objects).
The information is saved in a repository and then statistical engine manipulates the data and does the following:

Identifies objects that changed their size.
Identifies the average growth rate of each object (Size per day).
Identifies the percentage of accuracy in which object's size can be predicted to the future.
Aggregates object's growth into Tablespace and Schema and finds the growth rate of each Tablespace and Schema.

Capacity Planning Pack can show the following information:

Object Growth (size per day)
Tablespace Growth (size per day)
Schema Growth (size per day)
Objects that have unpredictable change in size
